A view and an increase!
The lake is usually a vast expanse of white by this time but this winter sees not much snow and temperatures only just below freezing - not at all sorry as it can be very hard on the eyes!
Plus 3.4 lbs. and that's all I'm going to say on the subject except that I enjoyed the company, the meals and the wine over the past fortnight. No regrets but some hard work ahead!

A new Year - 2016 - Travel for some, Stitching for one and Turkish coffee for two!
A new year......2016.......so seems like a good opportunity for a fresh start with this blog.........it is said that whatever you are doing on the first day of the new year, you will continue to do throughout the rest of the year......well.......this is what the WT was commencing to do.......
He left today for a two week trip to the UK, Spain and France.......as far as one can tell, I won't see much of him for the next six weeks......the joys of being a trailing spouse.......
Sadly, I wasn't able to go for a walk so hope that doesn't mean I won't for the next twelve months. Did get a new start though.......wasn't going to begin yet another piece......
Was just going to struggle on with the one or two (ahem) unfinished projects that are languishing, really no other word for it, in the Drawer of Shame.....but the temptation was strong and since it is a borrowed pattern from my lovely chum, Lynda, well.......it would have been rude not to get on with it, wouldn't it? I have another nice chart that kind friend, Liz, in Oz, lent me, so it will be next.
The plan is to attempt to post a picture every day, so I remember what I was doing, we'll see how long I can keep it up.....
Lovely dinner at a Lebanese restaurant last night, didn't make it to midnight, but a good time was had by both......
Wonderful Turkish coffee, reminded us of the lovely week in Istanbul, flavoured with cardamom, all that caffeine definitely worth it!
